Why clients move to us
Bookkeeping is the easy part
Any bookkeeper can post transactions. The businesses that get into trouble are the ones whose records are technically complete but commercially useless — a trial balance that balances, attached to a company that cannot tell you its gross margin by product, cannot support a bank facility application, and cannot survive an FTA query.
The One Accountant was founded in 2021 by three people who had already run finance, operations and HR inside multinationals: a CFO with four decades in manufacturing, FMCG and distribution; an HR director from insurance, healthcare and BPO; and a founder whose background is digital performance and data. That mix is the reason our reporting answers commercial questions, not just statutory ones.

Common questions
Before you call
Do I need to register for corporate tax if my business makes no profit?
Yes. Registration is a separate obligation from paying tax. Every taxable person — including free zone companies and businesses that expect a loss — must register with the Federal Tax Authority and file a return. A business earning under AED 375,000 pays 0%, but it still files.
My books are two years behind. Is that fixable?
It is the single most common thing we are called in for. We rebuild the ledger from bank statements, invoices and purchase records, reconcile it, then bring the filings up to date and disclose voluntarily where needed. Catch-up work is quoted separately from the monthly retainer, on the state of the records once we have seen them.
Can you work with the accounting software I already use?
Yes — Zoho Books, Wafeq, XYRA AI, QuickBooks, Xero, Tally, SAP, Oracle and Microsoft Dynamics are all in regular use across our client base. We are a partner on Zoho Books, Wafeq and XYRA AI, so those three we know to the level of knowing what they cannot do. If your current setup is the problem rather than the tool, we will say so and quote a migration.
Are you a registered tax agent?
Ask us directly and we will tell you exactly which registrations we hold and which work is performed in partnership with a licensed audit or tax agency firm. Anyone who is vague on this question is not worth hiring.
What does onboarding involve?
A 30-minute review, a fixed-fee proposal, then five working days: we collect your trade licence, bank access, prior filings and existing records, set up or clean the chart of accounts, and agree a monthly reporting date. You get a named accountant and a WhatsApp line, not a ticket queue.
Do you work with companies outside Dubai?
We serve clients across all seven emirates and in every major free zone — DMCC, IFZA, JAFZA, RAKEZ, SHAMS, ADGM and DIFC among them. Most work is done remotely; on-site visits are arranged when the work requires it.
Deadline alerts, before they cost you money
Turn on browser notifications and we will tell you when a VAT return, corporate tax filing, licence renewal or WPS run is due. Roughly one alert a month. No marketing.
Find out what your compliance actually costs
A 30-minute review of your books, filings and deadlines. You leave with a written fixed-fee proposal and a list of anything overdue. No obligation, no sales script.
